Habit Tracker

A free habit tracker you can print, built on a rolling fortnight rather than a streak — because streaks carry a hidden clause: the moment one breaks, the count resets to zero and every day before it is retrospectively worth nothing. Fill this in, print it, put it somewhere dull.

Your habits, and the floor for each

The habitThe floor — the version too small to miss

The floor is not the goal. One set. One page. Fifteen minutes instead of an hour. It exists so that on the worst days the answer to "did I do it" is still yes. Define it now, while you are in a good mood, rather than improvising it in a bad one. Leave rows blank to write them in by hand.

Defaults to next Monday. Any day works — the fortnight is fourteen days from here.

Nothing is saved — print it and the paper is the tracker

Nine out of fourteen is a good fortnight. It stays nine after a missed Tuesday.
No streak to break · go back the same day · thequietreset.uk

Nine days out of fourteen, held for two years, beats fourteen out of fourteen held for five weeks. It takes two years, and it will look unimpressive throughout.

There is no cliff to fall off. Which means there is no moment where quitting becomes the rational thing to do — and that is the entire reason the count is rolling rather than consecutive.

How to use it

One honest note

Repeated failure at the same thing is information about the plan at least as often as it is information about you. If you have restarted the same habit four times, the honest question is whether it fits your life, not whether you tried hard enough. And a tracker is a mechanism for interrupted plans, not for a persistently heavy few weeks — if it is more than a rough patch, weeks rather than days or steadily getting heavier, that is worth raising with a GP. In the UK, Mind and Samaritans are there. Nothing on this site is a substitute for that.
